music和play之间是主动还是被动

老师请教一下两个问题：

1.The strongest typhoon this year hit our city at the Mid-autumnFestival.这句话中this year前为何无需加一个of来表示“今年的最强台风”呢？

2.With music playing, I finally fell asleep.其中的playing为何不需要played？music和play之间不是被动关系吗？

1. this year作状语，不必用of。 假如加of， 就是定语了, 也不算错。但比较少用。

2. 两种使用方法都对。playing 的使用方法，说明这里是不及物的使用方法。比如：A good movie is playing tonight. (字典例句）
